Kanto Lampo Waterfall referred to by locals as Air Terjun Kanto Lampo. This is a hidden gem in Bali where you can soak in the pristine water, and take pictures on the insta-famous rock. Hidden deep in the jungles of Gianyar region, Kanto Lampo Waterfall can be a great sight for exploration. This scenic, seasonal waterfall with its water cascading down a stepped rick formation is a stunning view to behold. Located in the village of Beng Gianyar, this waterfall is also very easy to get to. Unlike other waterfalls, you don’t have to go through miles and miles of hiking and trekking. Within 15 minutes, you will reach the spot of the waterfall. The slightly under the radar location of Kanto Lampo adds to its uniqueness.
As for the history of Penglipuran village, based on circulating sources, a long time ago in the Bangli kingdom, when there was a war and the King of Bangli assigned the Bayung Gede villagers to join the war and other activities in the kingdom, because the location of the Bayung traditional village was far away, then the King of Bangli gave land to the village of Bayung Gede which is where Penglipuran Village is now, so whenever needed, the residents of the village of Bayung Gede could quickly face the king. Originally mentioned in the inscription, that the Penglipuran Traditional Village was called "Kubu Bayung" which means Pondok Bayung Gede. Over time, the villagers built a village in this neighborhood with Kahyangan Tiga (three temples namely Puseh Temple, Dalem Temple and Desa/Balai Agung Temple) and another temple (Dang Khayangan) was built similar to or similar to the one in Bayung Gede Village by the community.
Penglipuran village comes from the acronym word pengling and pura which means remembering sacred places (ancestors). Initially, the people of this village came from Bayung Gede Village, Kintamani, who permanently migrated for some reason to Kubu Bayung village, which is now Penglipuran village. For village spatial planning, each house has a gate called Angkul-angkul. All houses in this village are uniform but not the same. Almost similar. As for the size, it's exactly the same.
Lake Batur is a crater lake in Kintamani, Bangli Regency in Bali, located about 30 km (19 mi) northeast of Ubud in Bali. The lake is located within the caldera of the active volcano, Mount Batur, which lies along the volcanic activity of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
The location of Lake Batur is on the slopes of Mount Batur. This lake is crescent-shaped when viewed from a height, besides Lake Batur is also referred to as the most beautiful caldera in the world by most foreign tourists. Most tourists who visit Kintamani choose to see the view of Lake Batur from a restaurant located in Penelokan village. But there are also tourists who want to get around in the middle of Lake Batur by renting a boat.
The name Goa Lawah is derived from two words: goa meaning ‘cave’ and lawah meaning ‘bat’. It is important to underline that Hindus visiting Goa Lawah Temple do not worship the bats and cave; they worship God, Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa whose manifestation as Dewa Maheswara is believed to reside at Goa Lawah Temple. This temple is one of the Sad Kahyangan, the six main temples in Bali, and is situated under a hill known as Bukit Sari, and close to the beach, Pantai Goa Lawah. It is thus believed to possess natural spirits from both the hill and sea.
Goa Lawah Temple’s status as a Sad Kahyangan means that Hindus from all over Indonesia are able to worship in this public temple, without any distinction as to family, caste or geographical background.
Goa Lawah Temple was founded around the 11th century AD. This temple was founded in 929 Saka or 1007 AD on the initiative of Mpu Kuturan, advisor to King Anak Wungsu. It is also mentioned that in the 14th century AD, this temple underwent restoration and expansion of the complex. According to local people's beliefs, this cave passage is connected to the mouth of the King's Cave in the Besakih Temple Complex, which is about 30 kilometers away. However, in 1917, the passage collapsed due to a major earthquake.
The concept of natural balance which is closely related to the existence of Gua Lawah makes it the center of worship of Bhatara Tengahing Segara, the representation of God in the form of the caretaker of the oceans. In addition, Gua Lawah is also a place of worship for Dewa Maheswara who is the ruler of the southeastern cardinal directions in Balinese Hindu mythology.
