As for history, it can be said that Goa Gajah temple was built in the period 10-11 AD, which at that time was the dynasty of the Warmadewa kingdom, while the name Goa Gajah refers to the statue of Ganesha found engraved on the cave wall. In 1923 the elephant cave site was discovered by L.C Heyting who at the time of discovery, he found Archa Ganesha, a statue of Tri Langga and also a statue of Hariti. Furthermore, a follow-up study was carried out by Dr.W.F. Stutterhiem in 1925 and also in 1950 carried out further research by the Indonesian side, namely from the Indonesian archaeological site in 1954 to 1979 which resulted in the discovery of a small pond which is now in front of the mouth of Goa with six statues of women and their showers.
The water flowing from the shower is believed by visitors who come there to make their age younger. A very shocking discovery of history, where from this discovery it can be seen that we are familiar with the existence of beliefs in ancient times, while some statues such as Ganesha figures are god figures found in Hinduism long time ago, and the spread of religion had occurred at that time.
The Elephant Cave Temple of Goa Gajah dates as far back as the 11th century. Built on a hillside where two streams met to form a river junction, the site was deemed sacred and the temple was built for prayer and enclosed meditation. The entrance to the elephant cave depicts a giant menacing face whose wide open mouth forms the doorway. While there are various animal and forest motifs depicted by carvings on the outer rock face, the giant face of the doorway is considered to be that of an elephant.
Kanto Lampo Waterfall referred to by locals as Air Terjun Kanto Lampo. This is a hidden gem in Bali where you can soak in the pristine water, and take pictures on the insta-famous rock. Hidden deep in the jungles of Gianyar region, Kanto Lampo Waterfall can be a great sight for exploration. This scenic, seasonal waterfall with its water cascading down a stepped rick formation is a stunning view to behold. Located in the village of Beng Gianyar, this waterfall is also very easy to get to. Unlike other waterfalls, you don’t have to go through miles and miles of hiking and trekking. Within 15 minutes, you will reach the spot of the waterfall. The slightly under the radar location of Kanto Lampo adds to its uniqueness.

As for the history of Penglipuran village, based on circulating sources, a long time ago in the Bangli kingdom, when there was a war and the King of Bangli assigned the Bayung Gede villagers to join the war and other activities in the kingdom, because the location of the Bayung traditional village was far away, then the King of Bangli gave land to the village of Bayung Gede which is where Penglipuran Village is now, so whenever needed, the residents of the village of Bayung Gede could quickly face the king. Originally mentioned in the inscription, that the Penglipuran Traditional Village was called "Kubu Bayung" which means Pondok Bayung Gede. Over time, the villagers built a village in this neighborhood with Kahyangan Tiga (three temples namely Puseh Temple, Dalem Temple and Desa/Balai Agung Temple) and another temple (Dang Khayangan) was built similar to or similar to the one in Bayung Gede Village by the community.
Penglipuran village comes from the acronym word pengling and pura which means remembering sacred places (ancestors). Initially, the people of this village came from Bayung Gede Village, Kintamani, who permanently migrated for some reason to Kubu Bayung village, which is now Penglipuran village. For village spatial planning, each house has a gate called Angkul-angkul. All houses in this village are uniform but not the same. Almost similar. As for the size, it's exactly the same.
